    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

This has become one of the heavily used items in my kitchen. I love poached eggs, and this cooker provides perfect ones in a very easy routine. The key is to follow the instructions (very easy) correctly, i.e. use the right amounts of water with the measuring cup and let your eggs warm up to room temperature before you poach. The cooker has been reliable and easy to clean as well. I love this gadget!

The poaching cups are small. It took several tries to learn to make eggs that didn’t spill over; sometimes I had egg white in strings all over the machine when it was done. If you buy smaller eggs it helps.

Now that the machine is a year old or so, it has started malfunctioning. The buzzer keeps going off as the eggs are cooking; I think the lid has gotten just warped enough that a seal isn’t quite forming? For whatever reason, the machine keeps on thinking it is done, buzzing, and shutting down, so that I have to stand over it pressing down and trying to shift the way the lid fits on. It works well some days and gives me fits other days.

I don’t know if we put the parts in the dishwasher or if it’s just a troublesome little machine; but if you have multiple family members taking turns washing dishes you may not have control over whether the egg machine gets warped.

When it works, it’s a favorite kitchen gadget–and I’m NOT fond of gadgets.

Used only for hards boiled eggs, two years now. Yes it prepares eggs well but the unit’s components are made of cheesy plastic. You can’t easily transfer a loaded egg tray from unit to faucet / sink. The cute egg shaped “handle” can’t support the weight of the eggs. So you end up using two hands. And the thing is wet and hot. No warming feature. Bad or no seal when lid is on.
Replaced with the Krups 230-70 Egg Express Egg Cooker. Get the Krups, stronger materials, has warming feature which proves handy. Better unit all around.
